Ceramics and Glass  have been very important in my development as a craftsman. I first  encountered ceramics aged about 10 and the bug bit hard  and long, working at the Gladstone Pottery Museum in Stoke on Trent and then graduating from Central School of Art and Design  prepared me for a lifetime love of clay, pots and tiles. Some years later I studied in Sweden at the Orrefors school and was taught glass engraving, which in turn lead to me teaching it and encouraging many others to carry on  with the diamond and drill.
